Secretary-General Lounes Mekreman Meets ICRC Vice-President Gilles Carbonnier

The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lounes Mekreman, received, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Ministry's headquarters, Mr. Gilles Carbonnier, Vice-President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), on the sidelines of his participation in the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group.
This meeting provided an opportunity to review the strong and distinguished relations between Algeria and the ICRC, as well as ways to enhance cooperation in the field of international humanitarian law, in light of the humanitarian situations witnessed in many regions around the world.
During this meeting, the two parties also discussed developments at the regional and international levels, particularly in Western Sahara, the occupied Palestinian territories, and the Sahel region.
