The Algerian community in Nairobi - Kenya, under the supervision of the Algerian Embassy in Nairobi, celebrated the sixty-second anniversary of Independence Day, today, Saturday, July 6, 2024, where a party was organized on the occasion, at the embassy headquarters, attended by members of the Algerian community, the embassy staff, and a number of veteran Kenyan students who graduated from Algerian universities. The ceremony began by raising the national flag, listening to the national anthem, and reciting Al-Fatihah for the souls of our righteous martyrs.
Then His Excellency the Ambassador gave a speech on the occasion, which included congratulating the attendees, and through them all the members of our national community residing in Kenya, and he recalled the sacrifices of the Algerian people throughout 132 years of colonialism, which witnessed continuous resistance that culminated in the victorious liberation revolution, which offered millions of martyrs as a sacrifice to liberate the nation and win independence. The ambassador pointed out the keenness of the public authorities in the country, led by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on the importance that must be given to this occasion, praising the contribution and presence of the community members in abundance and urging them to remember the value of this history on all occasions.
The ambassador's speech reviewed the political orientations of the new Algeria and the most important achievements achieved in recent years in various political, economic and social fields under the wise leadership of Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic. He also praised the upcoming electoral date and its importance in establishing constitutional institutions and confirming the direction of the new Algeria through continuing, especially economic and social reforms. After that, a documentary tape was shown highlighting Algeria's capabilities and capabilities in all fields, in addition to the valuable achievements achieved recently.
Thereafter, the way was opened for a rich and transparent discussion that included different fields. The activities concluded with the planting of a tree at the embassy headquarters in commemoration of the 62nd anniversary of independence and in memory of the souls of our honorable martyrs. The attendees then headed to the ambassador’s residence, where a luncheon (traditional Algerian dishes) was held in honor of the attendees.
